The two symbols that you see repeated across the plate represent contraction and relaxation, and point to the heart’s enduring quality. I imagined this as an ID card- I think because I wanted to place the heart on a side rather than the middle. In this position it acts as a headshot that we see on an ID card. Note - This work is meant purely as a display piece.
