The tiny pieces of wire are all filed to a point before being soldered in place. Given the way they are arranged, the points appear to dip below the surface of the base metal sheet. This creates an impression of woven threads, and therefore the surface of these earrings appears like fabric. The gradient is achieved through the use of nine colours of gold - primarily white, red and yellow gold, but also a few shades in between.
